  • 5K Walk/Run for Wellness

Saturday, May 10, 2014 – 9:00 AM – Malone University Campus - 2600 Cleveland Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio  44709

 

Race Day Registration begins at 8 AM at the Malone University Track.

Follow the signs to the registration area and start line.  The relatively flat, scenic course consists of two laps around the beautiful campus of Malone University.  Strollers are welcome.  NO PETS PERMITTED.

 

Refreshments and awards will be provided at the conclusion of the race.  Trophies will be given to the top male and female finishers.

 

The goal of the 5K Walk/Run for Wellness is to promote positive health initiatives through educational and supportive programming, in order to address the wellness needs of residents throughout Stark County.  Community Services of Stark County, Inc. is a not-for-profit social service/mental health agency founded in 1919 to serve needs in our community.  

 

In order to guarantee a T-shirt, please register by Wednesday, April 23, 2014.  No refunds will be issued for registration cancellations.  Registrations received without payment are not valid.

 

Registration before April 23:  

  • $20 for participants age 12 and older (includes one t-shirt)
  • $60 for families – parents and dependent children (includes up to two adult t-shirts and two youth t-shirts)
  • $10 for additional t-shirts or children 11 and under who would like to participate and get a t-shirt
  • For registrations after April 23, please add $5 per category (no t-shirts guaranteed).

  • Annual Dinner

We're excited to announce that David Baker, incoming President/Executive Director at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be our keynote speaker at the 2014 Annual Dinner.  Click here to purchase your tickets for Tuesday, May 13 at La Pizzaria Ristorante. On the menu is Dinner Salad, Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast, Roasted Potatoes, Penne Pasta, Fresh Beans in Oil and Garlic, and Chocolate Kahlua Cake.  Cash bar opens at 6 PM; dinner will be served at 6:30 PM.

 

 

Our 2013 Annual Dinner Meeting was celebrated on May 21 at La Pizzaria Restaurant.  Speaker Jim Tressel affirmed our mission of Giving Hope in his motivational speech, reminding us of the importance of serving in a selfless manner.  View our 2012 Annual Report here.

 

The 2012 Annual Dinner featured speaker, Lisa Ryan, who focused on the value of gratitude in business and in life. The topic was very well received, especially given the good fortune we experienced as an agency in the prior year. Learn more about Lisa at www.grategy.com.

 

The 2011 Annual Dinner featured speaker, Taylor R. Pressler, BA, MA, Research Coordinator for the Center for IT Innovations in Healthcare at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Taylor shared an emotional speech about how the Family Living Center helped her find direction in her life at a time when she was most vulnerable. Read Taylor’s story in the Massillon Independent.

The Community Classic is a special event fund-raiser with a multiple purpose. It serves as a gathering place for our concerned community and business leaders. It is an opportunity to enhance our community through participation in a fun yet significant special event. This year’s event proceeds will benefit the Central Catholic High School Scholarship fund and our Family Living Center Homeless Shelter.

 

The Community Classic is held annually at Brookside Country Club in Canton on the first Monday in June. Register at www.comclassic.com.


  • Continuing Education Workshops

Pyramid Training Services offers Continuing Education Workshops designed to satisfy credit requirements for Counselors, Social Workers, and other behavioral health professionals and to assist the staff of non-profit agencies.  Our workshops are held at Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio , Inc., 408 Ninth Street SW, Canton, Ohio.

What is Impact 1 Hundred?
Impact1Hundred is a Women’s Giving Circle of Community Services of Stark County Inc. The purpose of the group is to promote philanthropy and engage women in the charitable opportunities of the community. Also, we strive to raise awareness and lead members to become involved with a charity in a more personal way.

 

The concept of Impact1Hundred is simple. Annual donations of members are combined to award one large grant to fund a program or programs of Community Services. The group is open to all women of the community. The only requirements for membership are to be female and give and/or get $1,000 each year. Every dollar donated by the members is passed along to the selected program.

  • Reverse Raffle

It's time to buy your ticket and plan to attend our 2014 Reverse Raffle on Tuesday, April 8 at Skyland Pines Golf Club and Event Center, 3550 Columbus Rd. NE, Canton, Ohio.  Doors will open at 6 PM and dinner will be served at 7 PM.  Your $150 ticket includes appetizers, open bar, and dinner for one, and a chance to win $5,000 or more!  Additional dinners may be purchased for $35 each.  $350 reserves a table which includes appetizers, open bar, and dinner for eight, and one chance to win.  Additional raffle only tickets may be purchased for $100 each.  Join us to make a difference in our community!
